01 Nov Becoming Gritty

Last Sunday, throughout the newhope movement, we were able to experience a powerful celebration! Pastor Benji shared a message called Explaining Jesus. By God’s grace, we were able to celebrate 124 salvations and 51 baptisms. PRAISE GOD!

As we move forward, still celebrating that awesome experience, we are ready to start a brand new series called GRIT.

We go through so much in this life. Sometimes we think about giving up. Giving up on our relationships, our jobs, our ministry, our families and whatever else you can think of. We just don’t have what it takes to make it through. That is where grit comes in…

I decided to do a quick search of the definition for grit. This is what I came across:

  • grit (noun): courage and resolve; strength of character

That reminded me of a passage in Romans 5:3-4 that says, “We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” What an awesome reminder that our suffering here on this earth is not in vain.

Make sure to visit one of our newhope campuses across the movement this Sunday as Pastor Benji kicks of this new series and we get to see what the word of God has to say about how we can persevere when times seem too rough.

Can’t wait to see you at one of our newhope locations!

In Christ,
