27 Sep Harvest Time
Last Sunday we kicked off our series called Love My City. It is from this concept of bringing the love of Christ to our communities that causes great churches to grow from small gatherings into significant movements.
One of the things that I love so much about our church is our series branding. We have an excellent creative team who works so hard to create top-shelf graphics which draw our attention to the word of God each week. If you look closely you’ll notice the creativity and thought behind the Love My City logo. Each landmark represents a city and its culture. It also captures the hometown feel of a community of people that Jesus loves and gave His life for.
In Matthew 9:36 the scripture says, “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” But then the Lord gives us an action step. “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.’” (Matthew 9:37-38)
As we start part two of this series may we also pray that our hearts will be moved with compassion for those who do not know the love of Christ. And may we be the hands and feet of Jesus to demonstrate the love of Christ to our communities. Join us this weekend to see how we can love our cities even better.
