07 Feb The Least Of These…

This past weekend, we celebrated newhope’s 18th birthday with incredible Vision Day celebrations at all our campuses as well as participating in our own SOUPer Bowl by giving back to our communities. We collected all kinds of canned goods, non-perishable items, baby necessities and more – all for the glory of God! WOW!

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to make an impact beyond what we can see at our campuses as these supplies will go into our communities all over the Carolinas! This simple act of giving reminds me of a conversation Jesus had with his disciples in Matthew.

We pick up the conversation in Matthew 25:34 –

“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”

This is how we, as followers of Christ, are called to live our lives daily! And the cool part is that everything we do, we can do it in service to Jesus! (Colossians 3:23) Whether it’s giving our time by serving in a ministry area or how we serve our spouses, children, neighbors, and friends – we can do it all for His glory. So this week, think about ways that you can serve others as we continue to strive to be more like Jesus every day.

Hope to see you this weekend at one of our newhope locations as we dive deeper into God’s Word.

In Christ,
