20 Feb Unconditional

Last weekend we not only had an amazing marriage conference on Friday and Saturday, we also had Pastor Clayton King sharing the Word to kick-off our XO marriage series. It was awesome! We celebrated 98 salvations across our campuses as a global movement – PRAISE GOD!!

If you don’t mind, I would love to share the greatest experience of my life which happened this past Monday…my wife and I just had our first baby!

I’m not going to lie. When we first started talking about the plan for when she would go into labor and if I would be in the room with her, I was scared! I wasn’t sure I could handle it. But I have to say, during the entire experience I could NOT stop feeling God’s presence! He was all over that room. And can I pause here just for a second and celebrate all the women who have gone through this experience? You are all amazing rockstars and heroes. Wow!! There are no words that I can use to express my awe.

As soon as I saw my child for the first time, I finally understood what the Bible says in 1 John 3:1a:

  “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are!”

What a beautiful image we have here. Me, with all my flaws, and the instant love that I felt for my son the moment I saw him. Imagine how God sees us. He, who is perfect, mighty and holy! The depth of that love is inconceivable!

Hey, next time you ever doubt God’s love for you, remember what His Word says in Psalm 139:14:

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful. I know that full well.”

This is so true, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. My son is fearfully and wonderfully made. YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made! Make sure to visit us this Sunday as we continue our XO marriage series! It’s going to be a great day!

In Christ,
