Welcome! This is the official page for information about how newhope church and our ministries are responding to the current COVID-19 situation. Below, you will find the information you’ll need to connect with us both online and safely onsite at our campuses!

Previous COVID Updates

We’re listening! Your prayers sent through email or text reach us every day and we’re honored to pray for and with you! Please keep us updated!

Thursday, September 24, 2020, 12:30 P.m.

We are looking forward to worshiping with you! In the midst of the current recommendations from our government and health officials, we have opportunities to gather both online and onsite!

We are hosting Watch Parties in each of our Worship Centers at the Durham, Garner, and Sanford campuses at 8:45 AND 10:45 am. These Watch Parties will feature live worship before and after the message with your Campus Pastor onsite to host.

A few important details to note:

  • Anyone who is comfortable attending onsite is invited to attend these Watch Parties!
  • The Worship Centers are set-up to allow for ample distancing during the Watch Party.
  • We request face coverings be worn while coming into and out of the campus buildings but can be removed during the worship experience once appropriate distancing has been achieved.
  • During these Watch Parties, hopetown will not be available. Families are encouraged to worship together in the Worship Center! We have amazing activity packets for younger children to keep them engaged while the Watch Party is happening.
  • Restrooms will be open, but there will be no coffee or food available. Thanks for understanding!
  • There will be plenty of hand sanitizer available.

We will still be having great online Worship experiences at 8:45 and 10:45 am EST! There are many ways to join, but we recommend joining your Campus Facebook Group!  If you don’t have a Facebook account – get one! Once you do, click on your campus below then request to join. For those of you who don’t attend a physical campus, you’ll still be able to watch as you have been on the Facebook page.

If you are unable to create a Facebook account and join a Watch Party, we invite you to watch online either on:

With all that is going on, community is more important than ever. Fear festers in isolation – so it is our desire to create safe environments for gatherings where newhopers can continue to fellowship with one another. In fact, we’ve launched several online LifeGroups during this season! Check them out HERE!

As a LifeGroup, we encourage you to continue meeting – however, your meetings may look different in this season. We are encouraging groups to shift to meeting via digital platforms. Meeting online can be a great way to maintain the connection while being physically apart. A few great, free platforms to explore would be Zoom or Google Hangouts or Skype.

Aside from digital meetings, we encourage you to be all the more intentional about checking in with one another throughout the week and regularly praying for one another. Find ways to serve, love and pray for your LifeGroup family all the more during this isolating time.

Registration for the Fall semester has now closed. For more information about Rooted, click HERE!

Battle Ready Men’s Ministry:

Battle Ready Men’s Ministry will not be meeting during this time. Even though we will not be able to gather together, we encourage you to take that time to pray for our country and the church. It is uncharted territory for us all and it is important that we lean into God’s Word as the situation continues to unfold. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that we serve a God who is bigger than any virus and whom we can cast all our worries. (1 Peter 5:7)

If you would like to be added to our email list to receive updates about Battle Ready, click HERE.

Equipped Women’s Ministry:

Equipped Women’s Ministry will not be meeting during this time, yet we are hosting online gatherings together approximately every other month! We encourage you to join our Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/equippedwomen/. This is a great way for us to engage together virtually through prayer, discussion, and fellowship!

If you would like to be added to our email list to receive updates about Equipped, click HERE.

Despite the changes to our rhythms, ministry is still happening!! Will you help us by giving online? As we’ve said before, this is the easiest, most secure and convenient way to honor the Biblical tithe and helps us continue the ministries both locally in our communities and overseas during this season. Thank you for being a generous church!

As our communities have slowed down, people may experience extra pressures and isolation. It’s a great time for each of us as the body of Christ to serve others! We encourage you to routinely check on your friends and family, use technology to connect and share, and pray like never before.

As a church, we have been partnering with local organizations working to meet needs within our community, as well as coming alongside other churches to care for those impacted through the economic changes. We know that some of you may begin experiencing additional challenges as well, so please let us know how we can serve you by calling 919.206.4673 or emailing missions@newhopechurch.org! It’s a great time for hope in action!

For more information about how you can get involved check out this incredible blog post here!

A Final Word of Encouragement:

Let’s be people of prayer and of studying God’s Word. Not as a last resort, but because we have faith in a God who is not surprised by the current circumstances. Pray that He will bring restoration and healing in our land, and that people would see Him during this time. (Matthew 6:34 and Philippians 4:6)

We also know that some of you may be feeling the impact from all of this, from being out of work, to trying to secure childcare, to not being able to follow through on certain commitments. The church is here for you. If you need prayer, please email prayers@newhopechurch.org or text “NHPRAYER” to 59769. Also, if you are having trouble securing groceries, prescriptions, or connecting with services online, we’re here to help. Please call us at (919) 206-HOPE (4673) or email office@newhopechurch.org.
