Welcome to NewHope Groups!

We believe that NewHope Groups is the front door to community at NewHope Church.

Growing in your relationship with Jesus is much more fun when you're surrounded with people who have the same goal. Each semester opportunities for friendship, connection, bible study, building healthy marriages, leadership development, and mens and womens groups are availble to you!

We understand that life can be unpredictable and being a part of a NewHope Group is an important step in your personal discipleship journey. Jesus says in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”

To foster commitment and unity within our NewHope Groups, all participants will be asked to sign a covenant. This covenant is a shared agreement that each member commits to being an active part of the group for the entire semester. You can preview the covenant here. We appreciate your dedication to this meaningful experience!

Tame Your Thoughts FULL

Have you been feeling weighed down by worry? Or caught up in a web of self-critical thoughts? The good news is that with God’s help, you can learn to renew your mind, break free from negative patterns, and become a little more like Jesus every day. This group explores three Scripture-based tools for managing your thoughts:
Practice Picky Thinking: Monitor the airspace of your thoughts and don’t allow the destructive ones to land.
Identify UFOs: Scan for any untruths that are creating false narratives that are leading to overreactions.
Uproot and Replant: Don't let the ugly weeds of Satan’s lies grow. Pull them up by the roots and replace them with God’s truth.
These three tools will help you take every thought captive and test the messages that replay in your mind against the truth of God's Word. You will also learn to overcome common thought traps like anxiety, guilt, rejection, dissatisfaction, and more.
The group also includes a serve experience with NH Missions and a fun experience. When signing up for the group the leader will respond back within 24 hours via text or email to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The group meets at the church and begins on Sunday, 2.8. The group will pause for Easter on 4.5. Participants will need to purchase the "Tame Your Thoughts Study Guide" by Max Lucado. Childcare will be provided and children must be registered before the semester begins.

From Fans to Followers

2 spots open

“Jesus doesn’t call us to admire Him from a distance — He calls us to follow.” Welcome to the From Fans to Followers Life Group — a space where we take an honest, grace-filled look at what it really means to follow Jesus with our whole lives. This spring, we’ll journey through Kyle Idleman’s Not a Fan, a study that invites us to move beyond casual faith and into a deeper, more transformative relationship with Christ. This group is designed for real people navigating real life — people who want more than religious routine, who long for a faith that reshapes their hearts, habits, and hopes. Together, we will: Explore the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually walking with Him Reflect on the places where our faith feels bold… and the places where it feels hesitant Invite the Holy Spirit to speak into our motives, desires, and daily decisions Create space for honest conversations, shared stories, and spiritual growth Encourage one another as we move toward a faith marked by authenticity, obedience, and love Through Scripture, video teaching, and guided journaling, we will listen for God’s voice, examine our hearts, and support one another as we choose to follow Jesus not just with our words — but with our lives. Whether you’re brand new to discipleship or have been following Jesus for years, this group offers a safe and welcoming community to ask honest questions, receive encouragement, and grow together. Here, you don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to perform. You simply get to show up and let Jesus meet you where you are. Let’s journey together — from fans…to wholehearted followers of Christ. The group also includes a serve experience with NH Missions and a fun experience. When signing up for the group the leader will respond back within 24 hours to confirm your attendance and commitment to the group. The group meets at a home in Durham near the church and begins on Monday, 2.2.
